#8 DevOps Diary: No more Docker?
Hey everyone, I hope you have/are having a lovely day and Welcome to week 8 π₯³
This week's newsletter is out later than usual since life kind of got in the way. I hope you enjoy it anyway and you are having a great Sunday.

Kubernetes is dropping Docker support β don't freak out. Unless you have a self-managed cluster, it likely does not affect your use of Kubernetes nor your Kubernetes workflow.
What does this meanβ
- Video Explanation by TechWorld with Nana "Kubernetes is dropping Docker support - What does it mean for YOU?"
- Let's have a look at some of the alternatives that you can use to Docker β Docker images without Docker
Blog Posts (and other written content)ποΈ
- Adding to #7 of this newsletter; some amazing people have started collections of free resources on GitHub to help you prepare for the CNCF Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist - CKS (or just to learn cool stuff about security)
- ConfigMaps in Kubernetes: how they work and what you should remember
- Understanding Kubernetes Operators
- How to manage Linux permissions for users, groups, and others
Lastly, the videos from KubeCon are available on YouTube now!
Communities π₯
This week I want to give a shout-out to some of the amazing people, who provide open-source tools to enable use of platforms and services across operating systems. You see, I am using Ubuntu, and a lot of times, I am unable to use a tool on Ubuntu because the installation guide is poorly written or because there does not exist an installation option in the first place.
These people have helped me in the past week(s) to get something done that I otherwise could not have:
- Daniel Tufvesson β Thank you for making it possible for me to install DaVinci Resolve
- To the person who created the EOScard and making it easier for me to install the Canon Hacker Development Kit β which in return allowed me to use my old Canon Camera for recording and streaming π (I could not find more about you π€)
Sticky-Content π
- You can find a collection of all the resources that I list in the DevOps newsletter + additional notes etc. on the public notion page
- We just kicked off our DevOps learning group. if you would like to join, please either message me on Telegram (@URLICHSANAIS) or on Twitter. I would love to hear from you π
Events π
Will be back with more events next week.
